Summer is gone!
It is hard to understand that summer is over, and fall is on its last stage. The warm days being out on the sound in my kayak is just memories, and the boat is now resting securely and covered against the cold winds and the constant rains of Northwest Washington. Now I will sit in my warm room by the fireplace and be grateful for my shelter. There were so many encounters out on the sound this past summer. Seals showing their faces in water just four feet from the kayak. It was fun watching the salmons steam up the sound to their nesting grounds above Deschutes river. The fall also brings these fantastic, beautiful cloud formations for us to marvel at. I love those clouds! Winter comes knocking at our doors very soon, and I am ready for the darkness and the silence of a sudden snowfall. Thank God for the change of seasons.
